Who are ACOP?
The American Consumer Opinion panel is owned by an American market research company called Decision Analyst. They have built a global opinion panel, which is commonly referred to as ACOP, and through which they conduct various important market research projects for local, regional and multinational businesses.
Our ACOP Panel Review
ACOP is truly a global panel as they accept registrations from residents of many countries around the world. It is certainly a professionally run paid survey panel and one which offers fair rewards for your time and opinion.
The majority of their survey projects involve the completion of a pre-survey screener first to see if you qualify for the full research survey. This screener is often sent in a separate email and if you qualify for the full research project that is sent in a subsequent email.
We have been members of our country's ACOP panel since 2005. We have not received many invitations to participate in their market research projects, although the ones we have completed have been interesting, well-written and rewarding.
ACOP Panel Rewards
One of the things we like about ACOP is the simplicity of their reward system. As an active panel member you are automatically entered into the site's monthly cash prize drawing to win a share of $250. Whenever you complete one of the pre-survey screeners, you also receive an entry into a separate cash sweepstakes as a reward for taking the time to do so. Sometimes these screeners can carry a small incentive too.
In our experience the full paid survey incentives are usually paid out in cash, by check/cheque (and in some locations Paypal), although the site does stipulate that some incentives may include gifts and products to test too. Payments are made in your local currency, or where that is not supported, by American Express gift cheque.
The Good
- This is a trusted panel which pays out the rewards specified.
- The email invitations state what your reward will be for completing the survey, so you can choose whether to participate or not.
- If you complete a pre-survey screener you normally receive an entry into a cash prize draw sweepstakes. On rare occasions these screeners may be incentivized for small cash rewards.
- Active members of the ACOP panel are automatically entered into the monthly site drawing to win a share of $250 (five prizes of $50).
- There is a low payout threshold of $10.
- Rewards for completing the full market research surveys are usually very fair for the time you give, and are paid out in cash, by cheque/check, or by American Express gift cheque. You may also be eligible for payment by Paypal. Occasionally rewards may be in some other form too, such as a gift or product of some kind.
- You can opt to donate your earned rewards to one of the site's specified charities.
The Bad
- The only negative point we have found with this panel is the lack of survey opportunities, as we have found invitations to participate in research to be quite infrequent (a few times a year). It probably depends on where you live as to how many opportunities there are, but even so, it is free to register with this panel and the rewards paid out when you do fully complete a survey make it worthwhile signing up.
